67 high school seniors from 22 school districts packed Stroud Hall on Wednesday, September 21 eager to learn more about the nursing profession. With a schedule full of speakers, activities and tours, the students were ready to start the day.

They learned about the different levels of nursing, the areas where they can work, and salaries that come along with those careers. At the end of April this year, UAMS Health Careers Recruiters Yalanda Young (AHEC-NE) and Janet Ligon (Delta AHEC), joined forces to bring a “Day in the Life” program to Forrest City. East Arkansas Community College (EACC) generously hosted the event for 20+ students from surrounding rural areas. They learned about a number of different career opportunities in the healthcare industry and learned their way around the EACC campus.
