Scholarship and Loan Repayment Programs Available Through NHSC
Written by Philip on August 5, 2010.
One of our recruiters discovered a couple of outstanding opportunities for students to get federal financial assistance for healthcare-related higher education and sent it my way last week. Thanks, Sai!
These programs are funded through the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) and are excellent ways for students in Arkansas to pay for health-related college tuition bills. One is a scholarship program providing money up front for tuition, fees, and other related expenses that won’t need to be repaid. The other is a loan repayment program that provides reimbursement for up to $50,000 in student loans.
Both programs require a commitment of 2-4 years of post-graduate service in an NHSC-approved site in a Health Professional Shortage Area. Current deadlines for the 2010-2011 academic year have already past, but you can follow the links below to get a head start on next year’s application process.
