This week’s ArkansasHealthCareers.com video focuses on Delta AHEC in Helena, AR, where Janet Ligon organized A Day in the Life of a Nurse. These Day in the Life programs are a staple at our AHECs all across the state. With the help of her sponsor, the Arkansas Minority Health Commission, Janet brought in 45 students from 10 different high schools in the Delta area. They participated in hands-on activities like needle injections, they learned how to take blood pressures, and they listened to a variety of nurses talk about their day-to-day experiences. These programs are a fantastic way to find out if nursing is the right career for you!
